Dodge President/CEO Mocks Z06
Latest edition of MotorTrend (August 2015)
Tim Kuniskis - President and CEO of Dodge and SRT stated:
"The Viper ACR is the ultimate street-legal track car, and the ACR is the fastest ever. This is not a one to three-lap track special. You can run the car at the track all day, and the performance doesn't fall off."
Was that a jab at the new Corvette Z06? I think so. No doubt the word is out that the Z06 is having problems tracking and so competing manufacturers like Dodge are taking their shots at the Z06.
What do you think?

I mean the ACR isn't supposed to be a Z06 competitor, but they're compared since really they're the only cars in their "league" (American super cars) at the moment. This should get even more interesting when the new GT is released.

Mock away! I would rather have a overheating track car to worry about vs a $105,000,000 fine. http://abcnews.go.com/US/chrysler-fi...ry?id=32700227

I don't know but the Viper sounds like it's on it's last leg https://news.allpar.com production will end in 2017, even with $15,000 price cut.

I have an acr and the new zo7 and would agree that the the acr is the best street legal track car but its a horrible street car. my z has never had issues but ive broken mine in and it now has 4k miles on it. I do have to say that straight line stability is questionable on my z. maybe its the parachute on the rear deck

Yes terrible sales numbers so bad that that production stopped for 2 months for the Gen 5 being 500+ unsold on dealer lots and that after no production for 3 years. The Viper is a great deal for such a hell of a car yet no demand at all. If Americans don't buy the Viper then who will?
yes im a crazy one that is ordering the new acr lol.... love my zzzzzz!!!!
best looking car design

I have no doubt the ACR Viper is one hell of a car -on a track. But if it is like every other Viper I have ever driven, it's a miserable experience in normal driving. Most people don't want a car that can't be driven comfortably on the street, and the Viper is nothing but lacking in that regard. I LOVE the looks of the car. But the Vette is infinitely more livable.

I don't really care what anyone says or their opinion. I work hard buy what I want and my ego does not need everyone agreeing with my choices.
