Well those are the figures posted from car and driver so that's what I used. Seems like your car is an outlier at 11.5 stock.

Is that all stock / stock tires?? IMPRESSIVE! great job.

Wellllll I agree obviously seeing as how I have a C7 but the camaro is a fantastic package for the price.

I also don't think the Camaro will be as slow as you guys seem to think equipped with mag ride etc around the track.

Wow, I have drove both '15's mustang HO V8 and Camaro V8's for a weekend each. Mustangs are harder to get in or out of. Both have verrrrrry small back seats which are hard to get to. Nether of them feel to drive like a vette does. The back end on both with spin out turning on to a wet road way tooooo easy. The Camaro is a tad more comfortable.
Not been in a hell cat. But the issue with me is
All 3 are high horse power versions of beer budget cars. You have to know what the little signs are that it is not a 6 cylinder young persons car.
EVERYONE knows what a corvette stingray is. The car is an American sports car icon. In the same class as high HP European sports cars. Even if it does not cost what a Lamborghini or the others do.

There may be more profit in each camaro than a corvette. This could spell the end for the vette.

Little brother was lifting...and has a knife in his hand.

Camaro is out for blood.

We should be celebrating all the great performance cars GM is producing today, Camaro, ATS-V, CTS-V, Stingray and Z06 instead of snipping or making childish comments.

Lot's of insecurity on display in this post.

So is the C7.The trend isn't good. The vette gaining hundreds of pounds,
the Camaro losing hundreds of pounds.

i guess with a user name like dave ferrari you really care about different classes and how people see you. so shallow, but thats a typical vette owner. but you are all in for a big surprise here comes the new camaro

I know one of my friends is looking to get a new SS, and was saying that he thinks he might be able to take me on a race with the A8 transmission (mine is manual). I responded with i wont be surprised. He also commented although they may be close the vette is still a nicer car, and looks a lot cooler.
did that make you feel better? sounds like you still need convincing, I have a friend that thinks the new corvette looks like a confused ferrarri, with weird tail lights

Just LOL and the camaro fanboys here.

You are not serving any purpose trying to trash talk a Corvette here in a Corvette forum.

Yikes sure hope I haven't started the HATE THREAD. In all fairness I think today's car performance is truly awesome. And for all manufacutures since I grew up in the 70's and early 80's. And at that time 150 HP was a big deal. And now it's truly crazy on the amount of factory HP being offered to the consumer. Which is great and as some of us bicker on the winner and loser in the HP war. Where are we 5-10 years from now? The conversation sadly in my eyes will be about how much torque your electric car has. And I SAY YIKES TO THAT FORUM. And the know it all future world order climate individuals and governments are going to shut down the PETROLEUM car guys. So for all here if wasn't for the competition in the HP wars how would u know what u have or don't. So thank u Chevy for keeping the Muscle and I am a MOPAR fan as well and own a Hellcat. And what does Chevy do with the next Generation ZL1 which may be the Hellcat beater. And it's all good since it just raises the bar for all of us HP lovers

I think Chevy blew it by not equipping the new C7 with more comparable performance to that of a C6 Z06. In 2005 the C6 was introduced with 400hp which was very close to the outgoing C5 Z06 405hp. In 2008 that power was increased to 436. Today with so many car choices with equal or maybe even better performance, at price points significantly less than a stingray, it hurts the corvette performance value argument. One can no longer claim the corvette is the best bang for the buck given cars like camaro ss, mustang or 350r right there with the corvette. Come spring I'm going to sell or trade my 07 but I'm really torn on what toy to get next. After all for me the corvette should at the very least be an undisputed performance leader within Chevy without having to spend six figures on a Z06. If I was spending those dollars I'd be looking at a whole different set of vehicles.

Default Meh .......

Why would I order an s/c ? I'm quite content with the numbers my base C7 puts down. A Camaro will never be a Corvette. It has a rear seat for starters. It is a pony car and serves a different set of people.

This is really no different than the manual SS coming equipped with the LS3 and challenging the C6. I kinda think it means we're about to see some advancement in the lt1 in the Vette. GM will use the Camaro as a testing ground in the market so to speak and then make a bigger badder lt2 or something.

As others have said its cool to see all the kick *** GM cars that are on the road. No other manufacturers can say that.

Camaro and Corvette have always had sort of a sibling rivalry... It's all in good fun, but if a new Camaro rolls up on me, he's gonna get embarrassed quick.

Wow it's an interesting post and time. I have been struggling btw the new camaro vs corvette. I have always wanted a vette and couldn't afford it at age 16. Now I'm 36 and make good money. We have saved for most of the car for a big down payment. I'm by no means rich but have a dream and saved. We have 2 little kids. And on paper the camaro is a logical decision for the family. But even with everything it's a camaro. I'm not a big fan of the new camaro and miss ttops when I had mine 97z. I've driven a 15 camaro ss and it felt really like a tank imo. I'm sure the new one will feel lighter. Soo I have been struggling on this decision for about a year. And at end of the day. When u look back at the car in ur garage I don't want to regret my decision. Anyway. Long story but I just put a deposit on a 16 2lt z51. My dream is coming true even if i only get to drive it 2-3 days a week.
