I'm looking for advice on how to approach this fix. My wife was taking a table out from the back of her Regal GS and damaged the door handle (pic below). Any thoughts on how to repair this? I thought I'd use a little glue but figured I might make it look worse. The material is a thin metallic covering. Thx!
I would look for a detail shop that does a lot of used car reconditioning. Have them take a look at it and advise you. It is possible to fix handle may cost more than replacing it. Used rear door handles normally have minimal wear.
I would try using silicone sealer or contact cement, clean under it, carefully with some alcohol, use only 70% rubbing alcohol or brake clean.
With contact cement give it a few min until it cures, then push it home.
With silicone clean it then put down some sealer then push the lifted piece into place then hold it down with some masking tape until cured in 24 hours.
Then when you pull off the tape pull downward so you don't lift it.
