How About those New Mustangs??
Ford announced the numbers today 460/420 for the 18 GT mustang.
Thats up there with the LT1 out of a 5.0L engine. plus the drag mode!
Im Not a Fan of mustangs... But impressive.
Looks like GM is going to have to find something to do with the LT1.

It’s like they are chasing Chevrolet. I loved my 2011 Mustang, put a bunch of miles on it and it was super reliable. I liked that it was pretty light for a muscle car. The new Mustang just looks bloaty like the Camaro was before the redesign. Now the Camaro shaved weight and size lol, so hopefully the next Mustang will be smaller.

Is the Mustang a C7? Then why is this thread even here?

I really like the new 'Stang, but numbers do not tell the whole story. I really doubt that many people are cross shopping a GT against a C7. Though if I only had $35k or so to spend I would probably end up with the Ford.

Looks like they are all 10-Speed Autos, and V-8s will weigh in at over 3700 lbs.
We'll see how things turn out.

15+ mustangs are great rides imo opinion. I had a 15 gt pp and loved it, great dd and priced well. If you haven't driven one you really should before getting negative about them.
I'm sure the mid cycle update 18s will be a nice improvemnt.
They will be quick but all things equal the c7 will be the faster car I'd bet

I'm not a big fan of older cars. Looks like the (MAS) Military auto source has sold out of their four GT500 allocations. I guess I could be "stuck" with a GT350R .

Turns out I am in the same boat and did quite a bit of calling around to make appropriate plans.
Some things to consider:
1. Right now neither the Corvette C8 nor the GT500 can be purchased through Military Auto Sales on bases overseas and talking to MAS it looks like the Corvette is a maybe by September of 2020 and the GT 500 definitively NO because Ford considers MAS a Ford reseller but not a High Level maintenance center. So yes for the GT350 but no for the GT500.
2. Depending on country of assignment if you procure either car in the USA and then ship overseas you will be fine under orders but the reselling to privates will be more difficult in Europe because the C5 was emission legal there but now the C7s and C8s are not. Not sure GM will seek homologation in Europe. They did not renew the C7 and C7ZR1 so may want to check that when time comes.
3. Driving a Corvette/US sports car in Germany is simply awesome!
Best of luck to you!
