Here are the key of this impossible car!
"ideal aerodynamics for the racetrack and a good drag coefficient for long straights"
The Z06 is putting huge downforce and its top speed is limited to 170 mph! because it is missing the ideal drag coefficient
let's pray the Chevy team will provide both ideal downforce and good drag coefficient in the new ZR1 and that is not an easy task with the C7 platform

The Z07 package does put down some serious downforce, but I agree, it's probably not very efficient in terms of drag to downforce ratio. It's pretty hard to efficiently get a lot of downforce in the rear without a wing (or only with a spoiler).
I'm really surprised the rear isn't lower and doesn't hug the ground more. I'm also surprised no aftermarket diffuser addresses it.
Anyway, the Z06/Z07 wasn't really designed for the ring IMO. That crazy long straight is just super unique and probably hurts the Z07 a ton. For the tracks we go to, the downforce is great and drag doesn't hurt us more. And we don't have to deal with a stupid wing.

Also we need that ZR1 right about now...

That's news to me.

So for 99.9% of people who are driving our cars in the real world , why does this ever matter ?
Do you enjoy your car, does it make the right sounds, could you buy a z06 and a really bad *** winter x5 m for the price of this car ???
Save your money, retire earlier and let someone else chase these things. I ll bet the next American Mario Andretti doesn't come from this site.
Chasing fastest stuff is like being the toughest guy. Someone out there will always kick your ***. Guaranteed.

I can afford a Z06 and have no desire to get one. I have 4 or 5 track days on my 3 month old Grand Sport, and I'll probably squeeze another one in this weekend. I'm going to keep it stock, warranty it to 100k and get about 100 track days out of it. Not really interested in tracking a z06. As I said in another tread- I paid $70k for this car and I'm going to get every damn penny out of it.
People enjoy cars in different ways. Some track guys will get it. Some hardcore track guys will get it. Some will get it for a weekend cruiser. Some won't ever drive it. No skin off my back.

Flippers are asking $100,000 - $150,000 over msrp. Ha! Those who paid 1mm + for the LaFerrari, P1, and 918 hyper cars are faced with the fact that their cars are performing at a much lower level than the GT2 RS at 1/3 the price - sound familiar!?

Regardless, the GT2 RS is a beast of a car and the time it ran is ridiculous! As fast as a Z06 is, it's completely and totally out classed. Sometimes you have to admit defeat, but this time you have to admit getting your *** utterly destroyed.
