Interesting write up.

I'm currently trying to decide if I trade my '18 Z06 3LZ for an '18 widebody that stickers for $78k. The dealer was trying to rape me over $5k but I held on and got him to even money. The hellcat widebody has a lot of character but not sure that it's worth it. There's a $15k spread between the cars and the kitty is gonna depreciate on me like mad kitty ..

Man this is so true! So many "experts" on this forum have no idea at all how to actually race the car they own. Yet they'll talk all day long about how their car can run 10's because Joe Blow did it at MIR.

On 1/14/18 at a track rental at Royal Purple down near Houston, I was able to run multiple 10.7's with a best of 10.767 @ 125.54 with a 60 foot of 1.612. This is a 2016 auto Challenger Hellcat with 305/35/20 Mickey Thompsons on the rear tires. Everything else was totally showroom stock with the Mickeys at 18 pounds. Needless to say I was extremely happy about the day at the track.

Until then my PB was 10.96, and my first run was 10.86, which made me happy (and with the negative DA and great prep a 10.8X was expected), then I hit several 10.7 second runs, which I could've only dreamed of. I didn't do any weight reduction or anything, however if my buddy AJROTH and been there, perhaps his skinny rear end would've hit that 10.6 versus my 280 pounds.

I still can't believe a 1.59 sixty foot on one of the passes. A 4700 car with me in the drivers seat...are you kidding me? Also my performance page showed a 2.8 second 0-60, but like the Vette's PDR, you really can't count on the accuracy on either timers.

People want to compare the C7Z and the Challenger Hellcat, but you really can't. They are both beautiful cars in their own way.

Outstanding job Old Goat. The Hellcat is one heck of a machine and is underated at 707 HP (way closer to 750HP). Keep up the great work and enjoyment with that bad *** Mopar of yours!

Good write up. I've had a Scat Pack Challenger going on 3 years now ..even at just 485HP the car pulls great for as heavy as it is. I am probably going to get into a Hellcat this summer.

Now your talking Tank! Hellcat is DEFINITELY the way to go, especially how affordable a slight used one has become (what a GREAT bang for the buck high 10 second street car).

Here is my performance page after the 10.7's. The 0-60 time blows me away for an extremely heavy muscle car.

It is one of the most important metrics for a street driven car....Well probably not for you because you seldom exceed 45 mph...But hey in the US we do 60 legally a lot and the quicker the better.

Great write-up and info.

I actually think the weight and transfer helps the Hellcat 60'.

Thanks for sharing and excellent passes!

What? The 6th gen Camaro is a great all around car. Does drag racing & turning well. New Mustang GT is no slouch either.
