Tesla Roadster
I received an Email concerning the roadster.
Zero to 60 in less than 2 seconds. Quarter mile in 8.8. Top speed of 250.
Just what I need to pick up groceries.

Yeah, not sure how this post has anything to do with C3 Corvettes...belongs in Off Topic section. Here we like are gas powered V8 C3 Corvettes....not interested in electric "motors", we have "engines" in our cars and like it that way.

It'd be nice to have that performance in a vette! Internal combustion engines ain't gonna match it. I for one am about performance no matter what is used for an engine/motor.

I once thought electric cars were a joke and then Tesla came around. Back in 2014 I made the mistake of seeing if they really were any good and went for a test drive. Put a deposit down that day. I've had my Model S for 4 years now and it's the best car I've ever had. The instant torque still makes me smile.
The future is electric. I think ICE will be around for special applications like small nimble sports cars, large pickups needing to haul heavy trailers, the guy that absolutely HAS to drive 1,000 miles a day without ever stopping, etc, but for most people an EV makes much more sense.

Until they can pack the same energy by volume that a gallon of gas has and the ability to fully recharge in the same time it takes me to fill my tank I'm not interested.
You do know electric motors have instant torque and that is why they get off the line so quickly. Our torque has to build up over the RPM range.

Maybe this is hard to understand for some, I know its complicated, but the Forum has categories to separate subject matter into topics. A Tesla has as much place in a C3 as if I started making fun of liberal wack jobs in the C3 Forum. Besides, a Tesla's will never be a C3 Corvette, no matter how it tries, its just an electric car.....woo hoo!
