I forgot to ask...are your tires hitting on the back side, or the front side, of the wheel well? If my math is correct, I think you might have close to 8" of backspacing with that wheel, which is A) a lot; and B) approximately 2" more than the OE wheels. I'm thinking that your issues might be on the inside.

FWIW, on the Camaro that I used to have, a '96, I had two different sets on aftermarket wheels, over the years. The first set was an "early generation" CCW wheel, 16x9.5, with 6.75" of backspacing. No clearance issues, but I did have a custom panhard bar on the car. The second set was a 17x9.5 Intro wheel, with 7" of backspacing, and again, no clearance issues.

Yep, they hit the inside. Still waiting to hear from the wheel company.

The wheel company was right all along. I took the wheels home and installed them myself. When it is jacked up by the axle there is plenty of clearance. I think the look awesome!
