Default 2014 Caddy CTS ?......

Besides my C6 I drive an 04 MB E320(which I loved) for the last 10 years as a daily driver, well yesterday some guy ran a red light and totalled it. Im considering a Caddy CTS 2014 to replace it. Anyone have any experience, comments on this car? The MB was a very good car, but I feel the Caddy would be a good daily driver without paying the "MB tax"......Thanks in advance.

On Labor Day I traded an '09 CTS AWD in w/ 230K.
Aside from doing a timing chain (very common), power steering pump & faithful routine maint /oil/tires/brakes?
Easily one of the most reliable, enjoyable & comfortable cars we've ever owned.
Loved it so much we traded it for a new CTS 'Luxury' (AWD) w/ a tiny 2.0T.
Mated to an A8 it's performance is amazing considering it's <150 cu/in...requires Premium but MPG's excellent.

Checkout this place: https://www.cadillacforums.com/
Was surprised there're Cad lovers rivaling Corvette, plenty of feedback re all model Cads.
All mass produced vehicles have their lemons, Cad no exception so check '14 M/Ys at Cad Forum, read what those driving 'em have to say.

We love our new CTS, just hoping the A8 doesn't act-up.
Good news is don't believe A8 was the auto used for '14, A8 may have come in '15+.

My daily is a 2012 CTS with the 3.6 and the performance package. Absolutely love this car. Very quick, tight and smooth.

We bought a 2016 CTS Performance model 2 years ago. The only real problem so far has been the info system had a glitch and had to be replaced under warranty. The front end is also like the Corvettes, very sensitive to alignment. Our first set of tires was worn out on the inside on all 4 with tire rotation every 5 to 6 thousand miles. We replaced the Michelins with another set and asked them to be very specific on setting the alignment for normal street driving, not some enhanced performace mode. So far so good. We enjoy the car, its fully loaded with the 2L turbo and its got plenty of pep. We took it to Kentucky on a short vacation and loved how it road and got good gas mileage. Its had a couple of recalls for little things covered by warranty, but other than that, its a good car.

Yup Rich, it's what Cad calls CUE.
Knew there was one item really irking newer CTS owners based on comments @Cad F, just couldn't recall.
That's it though, some --not all-- CUE systems had bugs, allegedly a PITA to make right for some weird reason.

The wife and I currently drive the 2014 ATS4 HERS IS THE 2.0T with 272hp mine has the 3.6V6 with 321hp both are awesome cars, previously I had an 2009 CTS4. Another reason for Cadillac is customer service, it is second to none!

My advice is to get the 3.6 V6 engine over the 2.0T, much more mid range power all the way to 7000rpm!

A C type MB is too small for me. Im 6' 1" and 260lbs. I did drive a brand new C300 and it was a nice solid car, but wasnt comfortable enough.

If you're thinking of a 14 CTS, get the "V" version! It comes with 6.2L LSA Supercharged 556hp, and choice of a 6sp manual or 6sp auto with paddle shifters. Lots of car for the buck! https://www.carfax.com/Used-2014-Cadillac-CTS-V_x16149

Can't speak about the CTS, but I just traded a 2016 XTS. It was a beautiful automobile, but it had evil spirits and I felt I needed to trade while it still had warranty. I'm sure that I just had "that one" but still, I was having issues. May have all gotten corrected during warranty and never happened again, but still, I was afraid since everything on that beast was costing $2K to fix/replace.

I don't have any CTS experience but I do have a 14 SRX daily driver and I think it's a fine car.

I have a 2012 CTS coupe. AWD. Bought it with 5000 miles on it and have had it for 6 years now. Only thing I've had to do was replace the back windshield that blew out one really cold winter day, and buy new tires. Excellent car.
One thing..........if you do the auto start, be sure to turn off the rear defogger when you get in and start it. I forgot, and that's what blew the rear window out.

My wife daily drives a 2014 CTS AWD 2.0 Turbo. We bought it after having a 2009 CTS, which we loved. The 2014 has been a great car, paddle shifters AWD and a quiet comfortable ride. The CUE system takes a little getting used to but once you get a handle on it it is pretty easy to navigate through.
We have had it on a few road trips that included a lot of back road and mountain driving, no issues at all.
Liked stated above, Cadillac service is excellent.

Caddy basically cant give any sedans other than the xts away.

The Chevy ss is a great car, if you can get over how unassuming it looks. It's not for the look at me crowd, but if you want a reliable, well equipped, spacious sedan that will hold value its a solid choice.

If I had to buy a sedan, it would probably be a hemi charger.

That's the appeal for me. I like the sleeper and stealth look of it.
