.....does this look more futuristic than the new C8? I think I like it better. Why cant car makers shoot for the stars? America should lead the charge in futuristic designs. Not copy every other mid engine foreign cars looks.

It looks like a prop from Demolition Man.

All sorts of reasons they can't make a Vette look like this.
Pedestrian safety requirements
Drivetrain packaging
Crash safety requirements
Etc...

Real world impractical design but it does look wicked. Too extreme to be used especially the long raked windshield...
reminds me of the early GM minivans that consumers hated driving because of the fast raked windshield....
its a very weird sensation that looks cool and different fromthe outside...

I agree the mirrors could have been done better and mounted further back. As for pedestrian safety, I feel like the requirements set forth by big government have no real world data that's convinced me other than collapsible mirrors. Its a bunch of nonsense made up by bureaucrats to justify their jobs at the department of transportation. Why would we want to be mistaken for another super car? Because they look good? I'd rather be look good while being different. It does look like it belongs in Demolition Man, lol and for good reason, its well beyond this time! I guarantee if you pulled up in that car everyone would flock to it and ignore any Mcclaren or Ferrari that might be in the vicinity. I believe America can do better, and my predictions are the C8 will fail. I'm not usually very pessimistic either....

Too "futuristic" for my taste. And with all that nearly-horizontal glass area, I bet it gets danged hot inside. And windshield glass is heavy!
But it might take the world record for the car with the largest windshield wipers.

Styling exercises are not for production cars. There are a myriad of reasons why, some of which are listed above.
Additionally, Chevrolet is not Bugatti, nor should it be.
Concept cars are good for teenager's model kits.

If there's one thing they have, it's data. Bureaucrats won't stick their necks out on a hunch. Politicians, on the other hand....

I love the look. The problem is that many of these "concept cars" never see the light of day...

Anyone saying this is ugly probably has no style in real life. I promise I dress better than the majority of you. I know that's all subjective, but I think women would agree with me statistically. ;-)
