I ran a clutch, driveshaft, and ring and pinion from each engine, to a one piece, 3 inch diameter tubing, rear axle, with the ring gears bolted solid to flanges on the axle. So the engines did not have to be synchronized. I could run each engine separately. Both clutches were hooked up to one clutch pedal, normally, to race the car. But I could disengage one clutch by releasing both with the pedal, and then putting a pin in one throwout bearing linkage to keep that clutch released, and then make a run on the other engine.
