Default quadrajet problem?

cold start, couple pumps of the throttle idles nice, warms up idle drops down. normal driving no issues.
after wot rough idle and dies. restart: starter cannot turn over. after much cranking back to normal idle.(sometimes just turning off and restarting clears up).
71' 402 chevy with rebuilt quad from napa 11 years ago.
never really had used the secondary, cause: to cheap to pay the
gas bill. i believe the vacuum advance (dist) is on the ported port.
dual exhaust, electronic ignition. no smog or emission equip. no a/c capped vacuum.
vacuum lines may be routed wrong, need to check when i get home.
vacuum lines may have leak also will check.
is this a spark issue or fuel mixture? carb is questionable since im not experienced in tuning.
timing was checked according to hanes.
first time posting. this may not be where i should ask this. pls direct

Obviously an overfueling/flooding issue. It’s been years since I tuned my quadrajet last. Best I can say, google will answer more questions. I’d try to get the secondaries flowing properly, they sound awesome when they open. Most people will junk them for edelbrock/Holley carbs. But if you PROPERLY tune a quadrajet, IMO it’s superior. Maybe fuel is old?

Fuel is new, and I think that sounds plausible that it starves of fuel when I floor it. It never engages the secondary.

The accelerator pump arm is held in place, as well as pivots on, a simple roll pin. On a carb that old, the operation of it may be sloppy, giving a weak pump shot, or if the pin fell out, and allowed the arm to disengage, no shot at all. It's a quick and easy thing to check.
