Default Audi A8L- Damn me, I love this car

Ok, so I’m getting older and looking at big luxury cars, found a 2017 Audi A8L with 38K miles for 30 Grand. Optioned out, new was 100K. V6 3.0 supercharged motor.

Can’t get to the point of selling my 13GS because I love the look and performance, I’m close though. What do my Vette brothers say ?

they're nice, but there's a reason they depreciate. There's a ton of fancy systems on those boats and even a small repair can be big $$. If you love it, do it, and throw a few hundo a month into an Audi Repair Fund to be used as needed

this, my buddy bought one and a Honda at the same time, he’s tired of the repair bills and is selling the Audi and buying another Honda.

Probably can be said about any German car.

Any pictures of the one you're looking at? Buy the Audi and keep the GS.

Audis are amazing cars to drive. The build quality is outstanding however, they are over complicated and very expensive to repair. I bought one once thinking I'd do all the work on it myself to save money. That didn't work out so I reluctantly sold it.

I would only buy another if I was wealthy enough to not care or buy a new one and replace it before the warranty expires.

Would not trade a GS for that.

I wouldn't trade the GS either but if you want it bad you had better have a good mechanic that deals with these regularly on speed dial. When some random o-ring that's buried halfway in the engine starts leaking and has to be replaced you want the honest guy that will do it once and do all the other things that need to be done "while you are in there".

A friend just sold that Audi's twin in Black with 45k miles on it after owning it for all of 4 months. Tried to talk him out of buying it, ride / suspension repair and cooling system issues hit him around $4k each and that was enough.

It was glorious to ride in though.

Audi is nice, but if you want reliable, look to Japan or Korea as of late. A good comparison for this would be the Genesis G80 5.0L, or one of the V8 Lexus models.

Hyundai Motor Group stole Audi's interior talent, and BMW's M Division suspension talent. In their later products, it's really showing, along with impeccable Korean automation and build quality.

Most I have EVER spent on car repairs in my life was on an 09 VW GTI 2.0T I bought for my son 5 years ago. Got it with ‘only’ 100k miles, car appeared to be in great condition. In the 18 months I owned it I spent around $7k on repairs. Biggest hit was when the timing CHAIN tensioner broke wiping out all intake valves. Chain didn’t break….just the cheap plastic tensioner….. Car was very fun to drive but a colossal pos as far as reliability….

I'll take Lexus over any Korean car.Lexus in overall quality and reliability beats any Korean car all day long.
