Does a Honda Accord make sense now?

I'd go with a Toyota Avalon, as you suggested.
Hondas are fine, but the Toyota/Lexus brand/s are the apex of Japanese car brands, hands down. Actually, of ALL brands.

Great choice! My husband and I have had a number of Toyotas and Honda/Acuras over the years. Basically, we get rid of them when we get sick of them and want a change, or they don’t suit our needs any more (e.g. need an SUV to haul around kids and dogs). They just don’t break down, ever, and maintenance is fairly inexpensive. The Accord is a great car that will last you many years.

I would pay A LOT, to have/own that Turquoise Green '69? Honda 750-4. Who knew the sand cast engine casings were going to be worth what, $30K+ ? Decades later.
The Yellow Honda 1600s were neat little cars in the early '70s.
You did good going Honda. You pay more when buying a Honda OR Toyota.......but you get it 💰 back when you sell it ' if you ever even want to sell it! 👍
