PIR is having the Baxter's Auto Parts historic races this weekend (used to be Zupan's). I heard they are also celebrating the Corvette. Definitely a fun event with some awesome race cars from every era. For me, the most fun was watching the 60's muscle cars racing against each other. The Corvettes definitely put on a good showing versus the Cobras, Mustangs, 'Cudas, Jags, etc. Discount tickets are available at Baxter's. Starts today.
Looks like I'm going to miss it this year 
. This is one of those weekends with too many fun things to do. And unfortunately, I can't be in two places at the same time. So it looks like I'll be going to the NHRA Divisional race at Woodburn on Saturday and then to the Olds 4-4-2 picnic in Centralia on Sunday. But I do plan to be at the SOVREN Historical Races at PIR on Labor Day weekend. And while it is not quite as big as the Baxter deal this weekend, there is always some cool stuff there as well.
