Hey guys, just picked up a 2001 torch red z06 on sunday. Here she is...
Do you guys have regular meets or anything? Also I've tried looking around but is there a forum for new people to the platform where they can learn the lingo and basic guidelines for modding? Is there any local shops that you guys would recommend to take the car to for installations of mods and what not?
Hey, I just got my vette about 5 or 6 weeks ago and I'm learning too....best is just to read on the C5 forum...you'll pick it up.
For mods, I usually do them myself....you learn a lot by doing it that way.
If you want someone to do the work for you, I would recommend a guy named Ellis who runs Speed Secrets in Monroe. He can do about anything for you, and is especially knowledgable on trannies. He rebuilt my 700r4 in my pickup. He goes by TwoFast4Lv on LS1tech...look him up, and tell him I sent you.
i usually do mods myself also, i do everything on my other car (91 3000gt vr-4) but i imagine putting all the exhaust componants onto this car would be more difficult since its lower. i'll look that guy up too, thanks.
Welcome to the forum, I'm just outside of Lacey, great looking Z-06.There is a group of people on this forum and another forum called the Rootbeer Raiders just a bunch of vette people that go for cruises together. If your interested I'll post the next run.
As for shops, I dont have any personal exp but I have always heard great things about Corvettes of Auburn. If you're looking to change exhausts, it's really easy. All you need is a jack, a few jack stands and a sawsall. I believe all aftermarket systems come with seperate over the axl pipes so you dont have to get the car up that high to get them in. You can cut the stock system to pull it out in 2 pieces.

Welcome to the forum and nice looking ride! Nothing beats a Torch Red Vette...
Yeah, stay tuned to this forum and you'll see when we have the next Rootbeer Raiders run. 2 Sunday's ago, we had a little run around Hood Canal...about 7 Vettes were along .... beautiful roads and views.
Check your PM for a link to another site for PNW Vettes...
Schweeeeeeeet!!! welcome,..it really depends on what kind of mods that you want!! for "reasonable" mods from exaust to clutch there is ellis up north, and for new engine rebuilds and chasing the dragon Mr. Thomas wong, way down south, (vancouver) it really depends where you live! ................OH YA, and how much $$$$$$$ you can get your hands on!!
thanks for the all the comments.. theres no way i could lower this thing, i already scrap the black thing everytime i go in and out of the drive way.
Those black things are about $11 per side and $22 for the center,my car is a 99 and I still can't tell they are worn at all. When you lower it,and you will some day, you just have to start taking things at a angle. You don't have to go as low as mine, you can lower as much as you want or raise it back up very easy, when you do lower it get some new shocks also makes a big difference although you do have Z-06 shocks,I'm not sure how Bilsteins compare, but they make my car ride alot nicer.
