Default Speed Traps Listed

I'm setting this as my homepage.

http://www.speedtrapped.com/state/wa...peed-traps.cfm

I haven't been stung lately, but the more we all cooperate, the better our odds, and the worse the WaSPs' odds.

You will find that on I-5, the WSP moves their "traps" constantly. Two big areas are around Mile 109 to Mile 111(Lacey between Carpenter Road and Marvin Road) and between Mile 103 (Trosper Road in Tumwater) and Mile 107 (Pacific Avenue).

This area is partolled by the motorcycle unit during mostly fair weather. This particular speed emphasis unit is 100% federally funded and their only job is speed enforcement (they typically won't even respond to accident scenes unless they are theo only WSP units in the area). They ride BMW RS1100's governed to 165MPH and use laser exclusively and will hide behind obstacles or at curves wherever possible.

The unit can (and does) write tickets for any speed violation over the 60MPH limit depending on traffic flow so a ticket for 62 is possible. There is another M/C unit operating in Eastern WA in I-90 in the Ellensburgh area and up through the Gorge at the Columbia river.

Then there are the airplanes.....

I live on exit 107 and i noticed that as well, they tend to sit in the middle of the road alot hiding behind the patches of trees, at night you can teven notice them without radar detector

I see more Law enforcement units in a day in Ellensburg that I did in a week while in the Everett/Mill Creek/Bothel area.

Speed limit on the Main road in Ellensburg is 20-25 mph. All my my friends that drive Have gotten tickets for going just 2 mph over the speed limit.

That is ridiculous. What a waste of tax payer money and time. I don't see how that would even hold up in a court. If you was to monitor your speedo to drive right on the speed limit, then you wouldn't be watching the road. Even Cruise controll will vary a little. And who is to say how accurate the speedo is, and/or the cops radar gun.

You know, I did take the time to check that site out, but my first thought upon seeing it was "it just goes to show you that there are potentially speed traps everywhere". I do hope it manages to expose a few of the really popular WSP hangouts though!

If you're looking for a reasonably safe stretch of I-90 to get up to speed, let me know and I can provide more information.
