I have been using MP3 CD's all Summer and it would be so much easier if I just had a good I-Pod interface to link up with 30GB of music.
I have a 2007 Coupe with XM but no Nav. What is the best interface to buy and where in the seattle/Bellevue area is the best place to get it installed....Any insight appreciated...R

One of the cheapest ways is to get an FM transmitter. If you go that route, make sure that it allows you to select any FM frequency, as some of the ones that are "hardwired" tend to be right next to high-powered stations, so you get some bleed. But you get a degraded audio quality.
Don't know if the C6 audio system has any sort of auxiliary input jack. If so, get a miniplug wire to go from your iPod to the AUX IN of the radio. You might have to turn up the volume of the iPod, so be careful if you go from that to your headphones! Audio quality is very good.
I installed the PXAMG interface about a month ago. Plugs in directly to the back of the Nav head unit and allows me complete control of the iPod through the XM touchscreen. Once you learn what the buttons do it's a decent interface. Better than others like the lockpick. Just do a forum search or google search for PXAMG and you will find lot's of info. Only costs around $150.
Tried the FM transmitter.....quality wa not good. Mnny of the ones I looked at on line require Nav which I don't have. I do have XM which should provide a interface point?
Will go to car toys today and see what they have. Would really be nice if GM stepped up with the harness and interface but not sure we will ever see that....Roger
I recently installed one in my C5 and I believe the name is Ipod2car. It was fairly simple to install and works very well. I did the install so my small ipod is inside the ashtray.
I would strongly suggest not to do the FM transmitter style as the sound quality is not very good in my opinion. I tried one first and simply could not live with that kind of sound.
Visited CarToys today and they recommended PIE for the following product.
2003-2008 GM VEHICLES TO iPod Adaptor w/Text to Satellite Ready Radios
Product Code: GM12-POD/S
US$169.95
Also requires a GM12-X1 harness for another 17.95
add to that $150 for the install plus tax and it's about $370 for IPOD functionality.
anyone installed this device that can comment how well this works.
Now the bad news PIE has both products listed as out of stock.

Like you, I have a 2007 XM no-nav.
Since GM is never coming out with an interface, I bought the USASPEC PA11 interface. Did a bunch of reading on this forum and it had good feedback. Some ppl recommended a specific vendor on that big internet auction site. Bought it, installed it myself in 30 minutes (very simple), and it does the job great. Cost approx $160.
Has anyone installed an IPOD interface to a 2009 or later with NAV and XM?
GM now sells a factory iPod interface called PAL designed to work with the factory NAV and XM. Much better than the other aftermarket units at this point short of installing an aftermarket head unit with a built in iPod feature. The install is also easy. There is more than one way to install a PAL unit. The new improved way is through the XM module as opposed to directly behind the head unit so you don't have to take the whole console apart or mess under the dash. I've installed a couple now, one each way and the new method is fast and easy. THE GM unit has the better interface imo and you can see song title information on the HUD whereas as far as I remember the aftermarket units don't offer this feature.
