NOT trying to start a new clinic thread by any means...
BUT has anyone either done a spark plug change or fuel filter change before?

Not on a C5, but plugs are pretty straightforward. Not sure where the fuel filter is on the C5. I thought I saw it under the car similar to an f-bodies when we had Jeff's car up on the lift for his exhaust. If that's the case it is also really straightforward.

The plugs are easy other than the last one back on the drivers side, also get a plug boot puller, other wise plan on getting new plug wires, they are hard to get off without them.

So does that mean my car could accidently find itself on your lift sometime in the near future? :o

I just did a set of GMPP red wires and a set of AC Delco iridium plugs in mine so I could walk you through it. I will get you set up on where to order them so you have them ready to go.
Fuel filter is up on the left rear frame rail area. Takes a special tool to remove the fuel line to it I think. The guy I bought my car from took mine into the dealer the day before I flew down to get it and had them service it and change the fuel filter.
I didn't even ask him to do this either. Said he just wanted it ready for my trip back up here to Washington. Glad he did cuz that fuel filter doesn't look like much fun to get to and change.
Hey Adam did your codes pop back up that we cleared last time we were at Joe's?

I had the fuel filter replaced on my C5. As I recall, the tech took the driver's side rear wheel off. He seemed to think it was a pain in the butt to change the filter. I reminded him that I sign his paychecks and ran back to my office.

Man that would be great Craig! I don't care what they say about you, you're a good guy!

As for the codes, yes they were all history codes that according to a post on here, a battery that's getting old can throw. However one that is current and history is the b1001. Having trouble tracking that one down.....

SDM = Sensing and Diagnostic Module

The SDM controls your airbags. The B1001 is an interesting code ..... when you start your car the SDM checks to be sure it is installed in the "correct" car (done to prevent insurance fraud by swapping out the SDM) by checking that the VIN in the SDM matches the VIN in the PCM and that the PROM_ID in the SDM matches the PROM_ID in the BCM. Usually a B1001 indicates that the car has been in a wreck and the SDM has been replaced because the airbags were fired in the wreck (which permanently locks an SDM and requires its replacement).

take it easy,

jeff

Hmmm that's a little suprising Jeff. The dealer mentioned nothing about an accident when my dad bought the car(I was there) And I know it's never been in one while they owned it. I've had to replace the bumper a couple of times due to people hitting my in parking lots, BUT airbag was never released. Could anything else be causing it?
