OBDII Code Readers?

I need a code reader. I'd prefer something that works with my C5 Z and my 02 325i.

Anyone have any suggestions on a brand/model? They appear to range from $40 - 250 and I don't have any idea what I should be looking for?

We have a old one that works for OBD1 & 2 but I dont think it goes much past 2000.
love it need to get upgraded I think its the auto xray. bought it several years ago.

I would get one that is also has the ability to scan CAN bus equipped cars.
If you have a laptop, and would like to data log or scan multiple sensors there is PCMscan that is pretty cool.

Your Vette came with a code reader in the DIC -- just wondering why you wish to be redundant......
