Been cruising the forums for many months now and I finally made a purchase on Wednesday.

Originally I was going to have the car shipped from Michigan, but everytime I called about and the pickup, the date kept moving each day I called. I got really uncomfortable since there was never an explination and the driver would never answer the phone and their in box was full

So I've been known to be spontanious and this afternoon I canceled the transportation and I'm flying out at 11:30 tonight headed for Grand Rapids.

I figured what the hell, it will be 2200 miles of getting to know the car

Anyway, I picked up a black 98 C5 with a built 408 and a P1SC procharger that the previous owner setup for some Nevada Silver State Challenge racing He drove the car from Michigan to NV on two different trips to race the car, so at least I know it's more then ready to make the fun trip home to Portland.

I can't wait to get it home and maybe make a few of these fun runs I've seen people post about. The most recent one that looked fun was from a recent weekend from the gorge with the three black cars.

I'm also still in remorse as I sold a turbo charged 67 Chevelle to make this switch. I hope I can get use to the new adjustment.

I'll post up some photos after I get home in a few days.

Corey

Congratulations. Driving it home is by far THE best way to do it. My son and I drove ours 1000 miles home and it was the best ride I've ever had bar none.

Sounds like you've got yourself a real goer there. Be sure to tell us in detail how the trip home goes and .... you will really need to post some pics ASAP.

Welcome to the group. Lots of really nice corvette people here in the PNW

Very Cool! I have the black C-5 on the right in the pic you are talking about. We would be glad for you to join us on the next drive out. Congrats on your C-5

Very cool. I'll look forward to the trip report. Let us all know how things went. Nothing like an adventure to enjoy your Corvette. Sounds like thee will be some stories to report so far a the car's provenence is concerned.

Have fun at this. That's what having a Corvette is all about.
