Default Balancer install by Jonathan...

Hi All,

Just had Jonathan work on my car yesterday and I have to tell all of you how hard this guy works. He does a quality job at an economical price, and his resume http://forums.corvetteforum.com/paci...new-place.html is right on target.

It's really rare these days to see someone at his age (25 YO) with such talent and drive. I know they're out there and he's one of them.

Thanks again Jonathan,

Don Thorne

Great everything worked out for the both of you. I must say, I think alot of LS motored balancers wobble, mine has for 70k never been an issue. I called Tom on it when I first found it, he said the same thing, alot do it but most are never a problem. I will say if it wobbled alot, I would fix it. That may have been the case here.

Mine had a little wobble that was always on my mind when I legged it out. In looking at it after it was out I could see it was a little out of whack plus the seal surface was showing ware and would most likely have started to leak soon. Plus I should get a little HP gain by installing the under drive balancer and the Vararam air intake. Maybe even a little add gas mileage.

We used:

SUM C2503 Balancer, 25% underdrive.

GTR 4060780 Belt, Gator-Back.

ARP 234-2503 Bolt & Washer, LS1 - LS6

Also replaced Belt Tensioner & Pulley Idlers from Gene Culley (GM Parts House). Hope I got that right?

All from Summit... The balancer is Summit Private Label, looks just like a "SPL".

Hope that helps,
Don

Hi my tuner uses the same ud and is going to install it on my C6 with a 224/230 cam. Hows your experience been with the Summit UD C2503?

So far so good. It really smoothed the engine out. Also if I remember correctly it came with a NHRA SFI Cert. That means ok to go to high RPM's many times.

Oh, side note: Along with this UD Pulley I also have an aluminum Fly Wheel with a performance clutch and with that combo the engine now picks up RPM really fast.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Don

Oh maybe a little over 5000. And no track time. We just enjoy the road trips but also like the added performance. I also added LG Long Tubes, X pipe and axle back mod. along with cold air intake. And it still gets as much as 33 MPG on the open road.

The car is 12 years old with over 100k on the clock and me at 65 YO... Well let's just say we're both feeling our age.

But I still need a Hot Rod.
