Wow....now you got me going.....I guess another expensive gift for myself for my BD can be easily justified huh??
Is 10 mega pixels enough for really sharp pics?
The megapixels only matter if you are looking at making large pics out of them like small poster size or larger, but the 10 will do just fine for normal size prints.
As you enlarge a photo, you loose megapixels and the larger they are on the camera, the better the photo will be, but in a case of regular size pics, that is more then sufficient.
I might add that the settings you have the camera on are the ones that affect the sharpness and quality of the photos. I very rarely use auto set, I use the manual settings as I can control light situations etc..
I am way more impressed with the wide optical zoom and the other features.
If you do buy it, and arent sure on how to use all the features and want some advice, all ya gotta do is contact me and we could meet up and I can show you how to use some of them.
Also, there is a program I use to edit some of my pics that is very similar to photoshop, but its free and I basically only use it to sometimes crop and enhance some colors.
I could show you and teach you that as well..........hmmmmmmm, maybe a new career, training in basic photography.
Do you think there are other brands that might offer more bang for the buck??
I like the video capability on this one and size and features but wonder about some of the reviews. Again, for the money....not bad at all.
And don't make me brag about my High school photography accomplishments
but really is Nikon still as good as they were. What is yours again?

Are you threatening me??? I would love to hear about your accomplishments in high school.
Nikon is one of the very best as well as Canon and even though they arent as popular as they once were, Olympus has some amazing cameras as well.
Need to find some information about a Canon that has definately caught my attention, and I will get that information back to you, but I have seen, held, and played with this camera in person and was very impressed.
The nice thing about buying from Costco is that you get a two year warranty and 90 days to return it should you change your mind. On my camera, they sent me an email showing a lower price, so I took it back and made some change(don't remember but I think it was the better part of a hundred dollars), plus got an extra card.
