This morning I installed a new Escort 9500iX Passport detector in my car along with my V1 which I upgraded last year to their most current model at the time. I plan to run them both next week on the trip to Monterey to attend the American Le Mans races.
To date I've been partial to the V1 detector with over 10 years using their product but I'm willing to give others a try. Can't tell which one works better without running them side by side.
The Escort has a GPS and uses smart logic to give it the ability to learn and block out all the store door openers and alarms so it should have less false alerts. Also it is programmed with to date traffic red light cameras in North America.
Going to be interesting to see how they compare side by side on the trip to CA and back.
Thanks for the input Ken. It will be interesting to see how these two top shelf models compare in real life driving. I'll probably test em both this summer and then decided which one goes in the Vette and the other will be for my "other" vehicles during trips. I suspect both units will be very similar in results and the only difference may be option preferences they have.
