Another Brother Gone...Obit attached
I must sadly report the passing of my friend of nearly 50 years, Jim Clark. Jim is probably best remembered to many of you as the tall fellow with the beautiful Cascade Green '57 Corvette that seemed to have a permanent space near the Virginia Mason trailer at every XXX all-Corvette Show. He took great pride in having done the restoration himself.
In addition to the '57 Jim also owned a nice '60 C1 and drove a red C5 convertible. His '57 Bel Air fuelie was another stunning example of his fondness for Chevrolets. He took delivery of a new red Camaro as soon as they became availible and could often be seen behind the wheel of an HHR. Red of course. When I first met Jim I spent many wonderful hours riding in his lowered '58 Impala, 348 Tri-Power, painted a deep black-cherry red, and equipped with the only "vibrasonic" rear speaker setup I've ever seen. Or heard, as the case may be. It often gave me a headache.
I almost feel like asking to leave Jim's spot at Sunday's XXX show empty in his memory. Maybe better to save it for another '57 maybe?
I'll really miss my friend... especially this Sunday.

Absolutely, if you can, leave the space open. Cool of someone had a picture of him and any of his cars to put there. Very fitting.
Sorry for your loss of a good friend.

As much as I'd love to see his "space" by the trailer left vacant, the XXX show is usually overrun with Corvettes and I don't want to see anyone put out by not being allowed to park in the prime lot.
Maybe the organizers could reserve along the trailer just for '57 C1's. That might be a fitting tribute. I'll bet be 3 or 4 '57s show up that could park there. It's up to the guys that work so hard managing this event. It's the CMCS isn't it?

Our regrets to Jim's family and friends and be assured, that as the organizers for the XXX All-Corvette Show and Shine, we will leave an emplty space near the trailer.

Very kind of you. I didn't know Jim, but he was a man after my own heart, and way too young to pass on. May he rest in peace and my heart felt condolences to his family and friends.

Great video and great pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Thanks also for your comments about leaving the space open. We thought it was a terrific idea and we were glad to do it.
