Default August date conflicts already??

So XXX Root Beer All Corvette show sponsored by Corvette Marque Club of Seattle is on Sunday August 14th in Issaquah this year (A tad earlier than previous years for some reason).

The 5 Star Classic in Tacoma sponsored by Classical Glass Corvette Club is August 12th through August 14th.

Corvettes in the Park sponsored by the Cascade Corvette Club is in Eugene on August 12th & 13th.

And, Fred's Man Cave Inauguration MIGHT be on August 12th.

So is this the only sunny NW weekend on this side of the Cascades forecast for the year or what?? I'm going to need a clone!

The only real conflict I see is that Fred's inauguration is going to be the day before the XXX AC show. Those of us that only have one car need the day before to spend 12 - 14 hours washing, claying, waxing, polishing, etc, etc sheesh at least there are no barnacles to scrape off

XXX would be on Sunday the 14th, right?? That's what is shown on the CMCS Event Calenadar.

Kevin,
One slight correction, Corvettes in the Park hosted by Cascade Corvette Club will be August 12-13, but still an unfortunately long list of conflicts on the same weekend. I hate to miss XXX and we have wanted to go to the 5-Star for several years, but since we will be little busy that weekend.............

You would think all of the clubs would get together to make sure this doesn't happen. Even though they are based in different cities they have to realize that the same crowds go would want to go to all of the shows.

Just checked the Classical Glass website and it looks like the 5 star show will be at Griot's this year. If turn out is anything like last year I think they will run out of room in the parking lot. I have only been once but I thought Dupont was a nice place to have it.

We try, but it could be that in this particular case the XXX may have had only that day open for the show this year.

At the 5-Star show, there will be room for 185 cars.

We try also, but some years it just can't be avoided. We have used the second weekend in August for the last 5 years and it has worked out in the past, this year however, not so much. We have also gone to an every other year format, so did not host an event in 2010. That could be a mistake on our part as other events could see that as an open date and move into that time slot. We'll just have to see how this year goes and make adjustments.

Default XXX Show

As a co-organizer of the XXX All Corvette Show and Shine I can tell you that the date is given to us by XXX Drive In and our choice is to either take it or leave it. We took it.

We understand that there are a lot of other events going on that same day but, in August, it is hard to find a weekend where that isn't the case.

We sincerely appreciate the attendance by those who enter the show and look forward to seeing you again. We also look forward to having new folks show their Corvettes and see all the other great Corvettes that day.

I see why there is all the conflicts now. I for one will still be at both shows.
