A question about price.
I have a (2003) Z06 that is in excellent condition which I’m thinking of selling. Similar cars that are specific to the Northwest which are advertised on (Auto-Trader) are listed within the range of ($25k - $30K). Can I assume this is realistic, given the current economic climate of our area?
I’d greatly appreciate if you could offer some input with respect to pricing based on the data referenced below.
Year & Model: 2003 Z06
Miles: 21K (Original)
Color: Black
Condition: Excellent. Completely original.
The car was purchased four years ago from the original owner with all the factory documents …including the window sticker.
Thank you.

I've been looking quite a bit at prices lately and I think that the price range you list is realistic for your car. Definitely a buyer's market right now, so it's all going to depend on whether you have to sell and the time frame if you do as to how it compares to those looking with enough money to pay what you want.

I had a 02 with 26k Miles on it & when we tried to trade it in, no one would give us more than 18k for the car. it was a electron blue vert.
we tried to sell it & no one wanted it either with a list price of 26k.
Ended up trading it in on a 2010 camaro 2ss/rs for 20k & they sold it for $30.
that was just under 2 months ago

I'm thinking (lower) 20s for mine. Thanks for the insight.

Yes, the 2003 model was the 50th Anniversary car but you couldn't get the RPO 1SC 50th Anniversary package on a Z06.
Still, it sounds like the OP could expect anywhere from $23 to $27K for his car depending on the buyer and the overall condition. "Excellent condition" really has to mean that to get a premium price. Discriminating buyers will look hard at a car's overall condition and they expect to see very little if anything wrong. Check in the C5 For Sale section and look for similar cars to see what the asking prices are in different parts of the country.
As the weather improves, prices will climb. I think that somebody that wants a Z06 is going to buy one in spite of the economy or the price of gas.

I'm willing to stomach the fact my car has dropped in value by a staggering (30%) in four years, but the same cannot be said about the process of getting it sold ... especially facing the prospect of having joy riders showing up at my doorstep guised as legitimate buyers.
Thanks again for all your insightful comments.

I share your fear. I've got a very clean '86 that I'd love to sell, but I'm leery of the whole craigslist sales process. Do you accept cash only or trust that your getting a real cashiers check? I may just consign with mike @ the chevy store. It worked well with my '69. If the z is clean I'd bet for 23k it'd move quick. Z-06's seem to sell very well.
