My 2004 Z06 is ready for a new battery. Where have you guys been buying replacements locally? Any suggestions on which one to buy or not to buy?
Thanks in advance!

I'm in the same boat as you Bruno. Killed the battery in the Z 3 times yesterday. Pretty sure it's on its way out.
Any lead acid battery made by Johnson controls. I have a 5 year old blem in my car with no signs of slowing down. I have ran this dead a few times because of my own mistakes, and it always comes back.
The battery in my pickup is the same, except it is on its 6th year.
Google jci batteries, and pick a dealer, and you can't go wrong.

Apparently Costco just recently quit selling Optima Red Top batteries. They only sell the Kirkland brand batteries now. The Kirkland brand batteries are lead acid.
Aren't all the new stock Corvette batteries glass mat or "sealed"? I believe the computer is under the battery so a lead acid battery probably isn't a good choice.

AGM batteries appeared (I think) in '02 after problems with the AC-Delco side-terminals caused acid to drip out and onto the PCM below the battery,
In '04, the battery was changed from a side terminal design to a top-post design that allowed for better sealing of the battery case. A good top-post battery should not have leaking problems as long as the alternator does not generate enough amperage to over-charge the battery. In any event, it would be easy to put some sort of cover over the ECM to make sure that battery acid would not destroy it should the acid leak.
