alcohol...

Just did that myself...used a little alcohol on a cotton ball to get the dirt and everything off the dash for good adhesion.

I used alcohol swabs from the drug store. Little squares soaked in the stuff.

Scrubbed the indents for the letters severally times. Kinda depends on how much "treatment" you've put on the dash.

I then used an adhesion promoter on the indentations. Felt pen-like applicator that was easy to control.

Given that the surface is not smooth and the number of posts about these letters not sticking, I think the extra effort is worth doing.

Mine have been on for over 5 years and I used the same approach for the letters on the rear bumper.

Since the mounting surfaces can flex, the metal letters are a bit more problematic than the plastic/vinyl ones.

Might have shop online for this.

Search: Remin BondPak adhesion promoter pen.

Should not cost more than $10.
