Anyone going tomorrow? I think its Alfa Romeo day, they are headed to The Ridge after the meet IIRC.

My youngest Son's 12th Birthday so we'll probably hit it up.

It's looking like it will be a nice warm morning on Saturday, June 29! We don't get a lot of those so come on out to E@RTC!

Lately we've been getting a few people who think E@RTC is another "Cars and Coffee," something we're not. From the beginning our focus has been exotics. While we blur the line of the very definition of the meaning as much as possible, some are stretching it a bit. If you're unsure, we go into a lot of explanation about our reasoning and definition on our website.

We really hate to turn anyone away, but recently it's become a regular thing. We do our best to make it work for everyone and that's sort of the point. To sustain the event, to draw those really special cars you don't see every day, we've had to meet expectation for both spectators and participants and that means we've got to continue to adhere to our definition.

Please feel free to pass this around to any other forums where the confusion may have begun. Meanwhile we look forward to seeing you out at E@RTC. Never hesitate to write us if you have questions or comments. See you at RTC!

I've never parked "inside" with my near perfect '04 MY C5Z cause even if the performance is higher then many so called exotics, it is not exocit, but may come early enough tomorrow, but I know what youre talking about and won't feel bad if turned away. 2 weeks ago for the British themed one, that was amazing. Some of those old Jags...Oh man! And I loved the Band, hope they come back..they were a nice jam band.

Hey, these RTC guys have always been gracious and accommodating to us lowly Vette guys....Eric is one of us....or one of us amongst them!

Jeez, what's going on here? I just now found this thread and didn't know there was any controversy. I understand the term "Exotics" I guess, but just how much fun would this event be with just - tough term to use here since there are so many fabulous cars around - Italian cars - okay German cars - costing more than, say, $200K?

I think if the event was "limited" to just Ferraris, Lamborghinis and the like, well, I can only imagine it might get pretty boring. Even among those marques, I see many of the same cars every Saturday. On the other hand, pretty much everything that would seem, to my view, to be exotic would fit in the Town Center's middle drive. Maybe the Lambo's and the like should use the center drive and let the rest of us have our "Coffee and Cars" even in the usual parking lot. Just a thought.

I truly enjoy it just like it is. Interestingly, though it appears to me that participation seems to be declining ever so slightly. At least judging by the number or rows currently filling up.

I could certainly get by without parking my Corvette in the "arena". I'd still go so long as it was interesting.

I think we need some further guidance here. Eric and the rest of the E@RTC deserve a lot of credit and appreciation for pulling this all together. I'll support whatever it is they feel they need to do. But would like some guidance and "rules" as to what's Exotic and what's not?

I read the FAQ's and saw no reference to Corvettes....just certain BMW's, Mercedes and Lexus. I'm happy to support whatever the rules are and have no problem parking my Vette elsewhere. Just let us know.

I should probably take the time to read those FAQ's before launching into another diatribe, but i'm lazy and worry that FAQ's suggest a precursor to rules and rules are for clubs and this forum is not a club. Nor, I submit, is the E@RTC event.

Let's take, for example, BMW's. Is a series 1 M3 an exotic, but a 2800CS not? McLaren SLR, certainly an exotic, but a 600 Pullman not? Is anything with an AMG badge an exotic? What about a 280SL pagoda-roof Merc?

An Alfa 8C Competitzione seems exotic enough but is an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Spider not? What about an Alfa Romeo Giuiletta Spider normale?

I'm starting to ramble here, if only to suggest the organizers at E@RTC are clearly working hard trying to make this a nice event and really don't need to put up with the mess of trying to figure out who to admit and who to send to the parking garage.

To my mind, we need to just let the guys decide who is worthy and who is not and simply base it on who shows up and who doesn't and merely use the (if necessary) excuse of the amount of parking spaces available on any given Saturday.

Well I got there early enough and they graciously let me park with the other Vettes. We all had some great conversations and my Son enjoyed it. I did later see what looked like a V6 new Camaro let in to park, if in that owners eye its an exoctic to him, who am I to tell him different.

We later hit up Greenwood, OMG! What a Zoo! Very cool but its hard to take them all in there all so many.

Phil, I got your email and have talked to the RTC guys. Contact John Fowler on the Exotics@RTC Facebook site and he will set you up.

As for RTC, it has never been one make over the other. Yes, it started out as a Lambo and Ferrari owner getting together and meeting people like us. It grew. They only have so many spots open on a given weekend. Today was Alfa day. I heard of a vette or two being turned away. That is because we cannot let 25 vettes take up 200 parking spots available when we have to make room for every Alfa that shows. Now that also applies to a Lambo or Ferrari given that fact they are not daily drivers. I drive mine every freaking day and proud of it. But I have moved my car to let something less seen have room. No skin off my back because I can drive mine in the rain, they could/would not.

The first day I remember Joe being the only other corvette there with me. Vette guys were few and far between until this thing started getting steam. Now we have 200 cars on any given weekend vs the 20-30 originally. That is a lot of growth with limited parking.

I wish everyone understood that we turn away Mercedes, Audis, BMW's, tuners along with Corvettes because no Ferrari or Lambo will be denied if we can help it. That is what the original theme was about. IF everyone can accept that then this event would be more enjoyable for the volunteers too.

No problem Eric. Many of us that have been going for several years understand the situation. We're happy just to be able to see cars that we don't get to see on the road every day.

Those of us that have volunteered to organize things in the past understand the work and the aggravation that you guys go through to make the events a success
