Default Road trip

Bringing this C4 back to Washington starting Nov 4, 2014. Found on CF
Starting miles is slightly over 11K. Tracking can be found on a ham radio site aprs.fi/k7mxe-11
Probably the first time its been in the rain. It is presently in New York and will stop in Bowling Green if I can.

Looks great! Drive safe and have fun.

Keep an eye on the weather as you get close. Weather in the Rockies and even the Cascades can change very quickly. What route were you thinking of? I-90? I -80? I-70?

Well starting off on I84 in NY then 81 south to i70 and not much I 70
then I68 in WV and then down hill with I79 and west again on I64.
In Kentucky its the Kentucky parkway and I65.
After Bowling Green I will use county roads for a while and in the past I took 60 across Missouri and then up towards Kansas city on a new freeway I49. No new road just new signs. From there I29 to Sioux Falls to do a visit and west on 90 to Mitchell SD where Boyds gun stocks are located. I want to use my wood from a walnut branch for a M1 stock.
More West on 90 till I get on Montana 212 near Spearfish SD. Then 212 hits 90 again at Custers battlefield. 90 the rest of the way except to stop at a buddy's house in Alberton Mt. In Washington I get off 90 in Ritzville and kinda wind around farm areas and end up in Yakima and over White Pass. Probably 3K miles on a garage queen, the slack days for this Yellow C4 are over as we all know it does rain here in Wa.
I just did the DMV thing and got Wa plates so no trip permits and that is a total load off my mind. Bob H

just curious -- why get off I-90 at Spearfish and do 212?

just did most of that trip when I bought my 2013 GS in Milwaukee..the SD Badlands side trip was pretty good.

Least the bugs will be fewer for you than me. Have a good trip - the C4 look nice.

I have done 212 and 1-90 and its a pleasant change. Not a lot of traffic, nice road but not a lot of anything else so fill it up first. If you camp there is one nice Forest Service campground that is free.
Also 60 across lower Missouri is nice but the Ozark mountains well I have more elevation where I live in Eatonville. More like hills. I drove that after my C6 delivery in Bowling Green.
I29 will be a new one for me but have crossed most of the two lanes in Iowa. Now I know how to get the bugs gone its not a problem. I use hydrogen peroxide and it does work good for that.

Nice looking C4 Make sure that the tires on it are not the original tires (as could be with only 11K on the car) and enjoy the drive.

Ahhhhh Not to worry, battery, tires and fluids are all fresh. Comes with usual stuff you would expect plus service manuals. Wish it was nearer summer but its not and road dirt will wash off. I should be ahead of winter salt. Should even get good mpg with a MN6 transmission. The seller and I worked together and now has Washington plates so do not have to deal with the New York DMV.
He said the tires had lots of thread but he knew they had to go. Spare may be a issue and will address that later.

I had a 1995 Admiral Blue coupe when I first saw this color C4 and it hooked me on yellow Vettes ever since. My '03 was yellow and my '08 is yellow. My 2016 Z06 (when I order it) will likely be yellow as well.

Congrats on the car. I really enjoyed my '95, even though I lived in Alaska at the time. Have a fun safe drive.

Now in Alberton Montana doing great. No issues except for needing new wiper blades and fob battery. This c4 is really brand new condition wise.
Lookout pass is going to get big storm a few hours after I go over it. Am bringing stuff back with me so cargo area is full. For the trip saw 3 Corvettes on the road and one of those was on a trailer.
Better report later but best mpg 29.4 and most times was 27+

Admiral Blue was one of my favorite C4 colors. I had Quasar Blue.
