I freely volunteer to coordinate the Northern contingents' convoy, as per years past (they don't allow you into the show unless you are a Z06, or ZR1 anymore ) and I will bring my camera perhaps this will be a good time to coordinate a photo shoot afterwards as well! Over a dozen people on 2 threads, and through PM, told me they wanted advance notice for my next photo shoot, so that they could be included. The open-air top of an empty parking garage is an excellent spot for a large GTG photo op.
Is anyone interested in mall food, and a photo shoot
Sweet gonna try and see if I can talk my wife into that haha! I'm pretty sure I would need new seats, softer coilovers, and maybe a shopping trip to talk her into a cross country trip though. RTC is the perfect place for the later anyways
i was able to talk my wife into it when there was wine tasting involved. So if she likes wine, use that angle. And if she likes bourbon, well Kentucky is the motherland for most bourbons!
I was able to show my "Standard" C6 which by the way is supercharged and many mods, was let in one year, but I did not make the cut last year...So needless to say, I will not bring a car to the show just to be turned away.
Jim
Sorry to hear that Jim! Shoot me a mail if you plan on coming and I'll try and let the gate keeper know. Non-event days I'll try and accommodate you if you give me a heads up. On event days like opening, Ferrari day, etc, we most likely wouldn't be able to make an exception, but other days we probably could since yours is no run-of-the-mill C6.
One thing some groups do opening day is get in REALLY early (7:30ish) and park right next to the main show lot, creating basically a mini-show of their own. If anyone with a C6 or newer Z06 or ZR1 would like to enter, they are welcome to of course. I know, I know, "why isn't my car being let in in?" is a hot topic, but I think we did our best to explain it and I hope everyone knows we really are fans of all types of cars (most of our volunteers don't have cars that qualify to get in, seriously). It's in our FAQ, here: https://exoticsat.com/info/2017/1/29...ked-frequently
I too got turned away last year - and discovered there's a simple solution: I went out and bought a Z06... (yes, I am kidding-wanted one since they came out anyway).
Seriously though - Athena and I'll probably be there for opening day. I've never been to an opening day but I understand it can be crazy.
Dan - do you also recommend getting there around 7:30 to get inside with your car? I'm an early riser so getting up isn't a problem but with the date it'll likely be pretty cool until the sun has a chance (if it's showing up that day) to warm up the pavement and I'm all but cold-blooded.
Parking on the open air top floor or the garage is cool. We've done that before and had a really nice mini corvette show. I'll be there.
And a thanks to you folks to organize the thing. Most of us understand the situation and are just happy to be able to see a bunch of really nice rare cars outside.
Last year, Cat's Exotics in Lynnwood brought their entire inventory of Lamborghini's to opening day I was getting coffee at the truck, at the show when they all rolled in right in front of me, it was awesome! Saw,my first GT350-R that day too.

Thanks, I really appreciate it as I will take you up on your offer!
Smile if you see somebody you know...like Phil acting up with Walter, for example:
And the star of the show....in the BEST color for a Corvette...Laguna Blue.
Excellent reply Joe. That was the day Walter brought his car out for all of us to drool over. Very likely the first C7 delivered into the hands of a Washington state resident. Did you think back then that you would be owning a similar C7?
In the second picture you can see Mark admiring the choice of black wheels and Phil in back squinting as he tries to identify the badge on the back of the car since he didn't know it was a Corvette.
Erik that is the top of the parking garage structure right next to Exotics@RTC that I propose those that can't or don't want to enter the show can use to park and take pictures.

Aaron
8 should be fine for opening day. I'll do a roll call of Z06s and ZR1s the day before and save some spots for all of us to park together!

Yep, I never thought I'd one day be driving a similar car...they are amazing. And I think Mark was trying to figure out why the wheels were black instead of the preferred chrome. And as for Phil, I think certain things are best left unsaid.

I was not acting up, Joe. Walter had stopped by Fred's Riverside Ale House probably for breakfast - yah right - on the way to Redmond and asked me if I could hold his head up for the photo. Easy task since well..he's often been accused of being light headed.
Seriously though, I realized from the photo how many good friends I've made since joining the Forum. Funny how many in that photo I didn't know at the time. Otherwise I might have known to wear the regulation dull and drab-colored clothing. (Is it true that "North Face" have displaced "Members Only" as the jacket of choice for those with a latent need to belong to some group or another?
You characters are fun to hang out with. I look forward to opening day. In solidarity though I will not allow the organizers to allow the C6 Aero Lightweight (one of 42) into the display. I don't care how much they beg me to simply go away.

Yeah, my '16 Z51 is a non-qualifying automobile as well...plus I'd rather hang out with yous guys on that roof taking photos for posterity before heading down to take a look at the rare cars that don't get driven every day.

Phil you keep forgetting. You aren't allowed to wear drab-colored clothing in public places. It makes it harder for us to find you when you wander off and become lost.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
