Didn't know they ran autocross at Sanderson. I drive by there everytime I go to the Ridge and it looks empty so I figured it would be good for stuff like this.

What car did you run? How was it?

Seems to me NWACC should change its name to NWATUTBFCCADMTJA to more accurately reflect what they've metamorphised into......

North West Association That Used To Be For Corvette Clubs And Did More Than Just Autocross....

Or perhaps

NWAOCIB

North West Association Of Club Insurance Brokers

Honestly it would be nice if they started to host track days at the Ridge and Pacific Raceways. The local BMW and Porsche clubs do this and get pretty big turn outs. I know tracking isn't for everyone, but in my opinion, it's a great way to stretch a cars legs legally and it's fun.

It would be nice if autocross events were held down here once in a while too.

There is more to the PNW than just Shelton....

Rose City will hold an autocross on August 5th at PIR. One of the biggest problems is rental costs for a suitable site. And even finding a site can be a big deal.

Same with track days; the cost to rent a track like The Ridge, Pacific Raceways or even PIR is huge.

Like C4Cruiser said, its hard to find suitable space, and even if you do, the cost is probably fairly high. I will say, I've noticed the growing popularity of The Ridge/Shelton. I've talked to the guys that run the track and there have been quite a few manufacturers that have rented out the track including Jaguar and Subaru.

That's very true, but if you get enough people to sign up, the cost can be covered. Granted that heavily depends on the track. I actually found a list of what it costs to rent out different tracks around the world and its pretty surprising.

Oh I get that finding suitable venues for autocrossing is neither easy nor cheap! I was just sorta wishing out loud

Well that and... I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with the direction NWACC has taken recently.....
