Cascade Loop
Would anyone be up for a day drive from Everett/Snohomish or even I90 area to Leavenworth, then Chelan, then Winthrop and then the north cascade highway?
I've done it a few times in other cars, but never my C5. I'd love to do it before summer is over. It takes around 8 hours driving straight through, but we'd be able to stop for food. So it'd be a 8-12 hour trip.
Anyways, it'd be fun. Let me know if you're interested. I was thinking Saturday October 7th.

I made that run last weekend but stayed in Winthrop for the Vintage Wheels Car Show. Little smoky on the east side but cleared out Saturday. It was supposed to get smoky again starting last Sunday afternoon but I was gone by then.
Recommend you check the fire and smoke situation before you head that way.

It looks like most of you guys live down south. So I was thinking we could meet at XXX in Issaquah pretty early like 6-7am and take I90 to Blewett Pass and then grab breakfast in Leavenworth.
Unless you guys would want to drive up north and take Highway 2 over to Leavenworth. Either way works for me.

Thanks! I've got about 15 years of notes I'm trying to put down into something usable and fun for people and not overload the page. Trying to publish one every week.

Chelan Diversion
That weekend or Oct 7th is also the annual Mahogany and Merlot event in Chelan. I'm not going this year so don;t know how many of the old Unlimiteds will be there. I'm sure there will be a few though and the turnout of old wooden runabouts and vintage limited class hydros is usually quit large and interesting.
So, if you need a diversion along the route, you might give this some thought.

I think I'm going to call it off unfortunately. It looks like it's going to rain and be cold.. so that probably means snow for the passes. Especially the north cascade pass. I vote we shoot for sometime this spring or early summer. Sorry guys. I'd love to go but would rather not risk the passes.

I actually drove the loop this past Sunday. I totally forgot about your post here. It is a beautiful drive in the fall and we got lucky with the weather. The passes were a little wet with melting snow, but otherwise good conditions and above 40. Of course, my nemesis the RV was also out in full force, but I guess that can't be avoided. I'll keep an eye out for when you do this next year.
