FS - Nicely Modified 1981 Corvette
This Corvette was originally sold in Canada. I purchased it from the 2nd owner in 2001. This Corvette left the factory with the L-81 and a 4 speed transmission, it now has a 5 speed.
As it sits now:
Engine: 355 Cubic Inches / about 405 hp (flywheel) - 330 hp at the wheels – Edelbrock camshaft, Aluminum Heads and intake manifold, Edelbrock 650 CFM Carb, DeWitt’s Aluminum Radiator and (C6 Corvette) Electric Fan, Hedman Side Dump Ceramic Headers, All drive-line mounts/bushings replaced with polyurethane.
Transmission: Tremec / 5 speed with High Performance Driveshaft & Hydraulic Clutch – All (6) U-Joints replaced with high performance U-Joints
Suspension: Vette Brakes and Products Grand Touring suspension system. (Bilstein shocks, larger sway bars front/rear, stiffer rear mono-spring and stiffer front coil springs. Upper A-Arms from VanSteel Racing) All suspension bushings replaced with polyurethane bushings. Trailing Arms rebuilt by Pacific Corvette using rubber bushings
Wheels: Budnick Shotgun – Front: 9.5 X 18 - Rear: 12 X 18
Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport (Z Rated) – Front: 275 35R X 18 - Rear: 330 35R X 18
Body: Fender Flares, Nose, Tail, Hood, Side Exhaust Covers (ACI Fiberglass)
Side Exhaust: Sweet Thunder Exhaust Systems
Interior: Mid-America Corvette Black Leather with Electron Red piping. Dash Gauge Bezel replaced to accommodate Single DIN stereo head (Willcox Corvette)
Sound System: Alpine head (AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth Phone, Bluetooth audio, USB and mini-plug ports), Alpine 4 channel (4 X 50) power amp, Infinity Bass Link Subwoofer w/200 watt amp, Front Speakers: Infinity 4 X 6, Rear Speakers: JBL 6 X 9 (3-Way)
The sale of this Corvette would also include a variety of parts (new and used, estimated worth: $500+) to include the original wheels and OEM caps. Also included are a 600 page Assembly Manual and a 1981 Dealers Service Manual. It would also include the rear mounted roof rack (RPO V54) for the removable roof sections. These Roof Rack pieces can sell on eBay for $500 to $700. (I was recently told by a forum member that he lost with a $990 bid on a recent auction.)
The story: I purchased the car with about 25,000 KM on the odometer... that translates to about 15,000 miles. All suspension bushings and ball joints were replaced at about 15,500 miles. The car underwent a body-off rebuild at that time. Though not pictured, the car comes with the mirrored T-tops. The passenger side of which has a slight crack that was present when I bought the car. Its condition hasn't changed in the time I've owned/driven it. The entire frame has been POR-15 treated and top coated with Eastwood Chassis Black. Paint and most upholstery/carpet was new at the time of the restoration. A sound/heat deadening product was installed in the floor pan before the carpet installation. Since I've owned the car it has been housed in a temperature controlled facility. Finally, the air conditioning has not been recharged since the rebuild, though it was working at the time of dis-assembly. All parts for the air conditioning system (including the belt) are believed to be included.
Pics follow, PM me for additional information if needed... asking $25K.
