Stuck gearshift
Occasionally, we cannot get our gearshift out of park without trying it a number of times until it finally works. We have a 2006 Z51 Conv. with 100,128 miles. We have the car since new and the problem started after 90,,000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, what was the "fix".

There is a lock out mechanism on the shifter that prevents the car from being started unless it is park. Parts of that linkage will wear and cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Not a hard fix but does require some some troubleshooting to isolate which components of the lock mechanism are giving you the problem.
