i have to replace both quarter panels on my 70 vert rebuild due to accident damage. corvette america has press moulded and hand layered panels. what's the difference? has anyone used these? has anyone used any other sources? any help would be appreciated.

Jeff,
I usually get mine from Ecklers. Hand layed are less expensive and for a driver would be fine. The press molded ones generally fit a little better and are "more correct" for a restoration project. Either one will make the car look correct on the outside, if installed correctly.
Hope this helps.

What is a good source if you want press molded so you will be correct for lets say NCRS there are alot of different choices out there I know I dont want to make the wrong decision!
So jnb5101 what are you looking for press molded or hand laid glass?

I hear ACI makes some of the best hand laid glass on the market, both in fit and finish. Just do a search for them, they are located in Ohio. When I called them, they said they are using epoxy resin which is top notch, there should not be any worries with moisture migration with epoxy.
