I had outside mirror replaced. Motor never worked. 3 months to get part. Whole unit had to be painted. Told them it didn't match. Told to call Chevy Consumer Assistance. They promised to call back in two days. Two weeks later told proper color formula was used and request to put back old mirror denied. Another dealer and private body shop agreed didn't match. District manager never saw car or talked to me. What recourse do I have. Promised by dealer no problem matching paint when told whole unit had to be replaced and painted.
Talked to Chevy assistance again. Told me they would find out why neither me or other dealer was never contacted about match. Nver looked at. Told that district manage trust service manager's word.
It's pretty cut and dry. If they had the car when they painted it, they absolutely have to make it right. If you ordered the mirror, had it painted and then brought your car in to have it installed... I could see how the dealership could be peeved. Granted, they should have told you they needed the vehicle to guarantee the proper color.
Dealer ordered mirror. Called me 3 months later when it came in. I was going to bring in the car so they could match. Told not necessary. No problem matching. Did not let me look at mirror before installing. District manager reviewed his decision and stands by it. He has never talked to me or other dealer or seen my car.

That's what you should be ramming down their throat...

For that color match you need the car. My 04 mag red car came from the factory with rear, front fasia and mirrows with gas door 1/2 shade darker than body.
