Default nose chips hundreds!

What is the best way to fix these chips. I don't have much experience in auto body. It doesn't have to be great for a track car but after a while it gets to be white as you can see.

Limited to garage repairs. I guess all the paint gets sanded off and filled? What is the best tool to use to sand rounded and irregular area like the Z06 ducts and small angled area which get blasted from stones.

Any basic autobody books you can reccommend? I know you cannot make me an auto body guy in a few paragraphs. Thanks for your help.

Well to start all the paint will need to be sanded down smooth. Then you will need to prep and primer, sand that smooth, prep and paint. The way we would attack the curves would be with a DA sander or with a die grinder and sanding disk. The more paint you get off before you start priming the less priming and sanding you will have to do. As for books on paint and body; I like the book "Jon Kosmoski's Custom Painting Secrets" by Jon Kosmoski. Don't let the name fool you; it is a great book for both the advanced custom painter and novice alike. Lots of great prep and bodywork basics. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask; best of luck with the painting, I hope this helped.

Thanks for your help! More of a winter project I guess. Then I'll be taking the nose off so it will easier to work with.

Well I would do most of my sanding work with it on; these covers can be tough to get a handle on while sanding when they are off the car. I would take it off for all my paint work though...

Troble is it will mess up the entire garage being a winter project. The nose is fiberglass so it may not be a greased pig like the stocker. Good tip so I may brave the cold and do most of it by rolling the car outside if it is above 40*

Someone recently came out with a DIY car paint process. As I understand it, you can easily do the painting at home, start and stop when you want with no blend lines. Supposed to have characteristics of laquer paint.

If I can find a link, I'll post!

Don't know anything about the paint or the process but they make is sound pretty easy!
