Looks like you might be able to wetsand that area and buff it. You may want to go to either a bodyshop or a detail shop and see if they can do it. Shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes.
Of course, this is as long as the scratches are not through the clear. it doesn't appear to be.
If they are, that's a very easy place to blend the red and the clear and make it unnoticeable.
If the surface had been waxed beforehand, it could possibly have been removed with more wax - rubbed in very hard, but NOT allowed to dry. Rather just wiped off.
The new wax would 'solve' the old wax, and probably carry off the white paint when wiped off.
Try that first next time. What are you gonna' damage???
I have the same color and had similiar problem. My damage wasn't through the clear. I wet buffed with high speed buffer and mild compound. Polished with orbital buffer and foam pad. Hand waxed. Repair result is very good.
Wet sand the area with 1200 grit on a da sander; follow that with some 2000 and then the trizact foam pad. Once this is done you can use one of the many systems out there for compounding the finish. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me or post here. Hope this helps; you should be able to get the rest of that out pretty easy.
