Default Flex additive

Okay, my bumper covers are fading, and the upper half of my passenger side door panel needs some work, the rest of the paint looks pretty good so...If I prep all three sections can I use the same paint mix on them or is the paint with flex additive only to be used on the more flexible bumper covers? Will it make a difference if paint with the flex additive is used on the door panel?

Or, is this all old school and the newer paints/systems make all this obsolete?

What if I were to do the whole car? should panels be separated or shot in place?

I'm under the impression that adding ala carte flex additives are thing of the past. Paints now a days are relatively flexible. Keep in mind that if your doing the door, you'll most likely need to blend out to the adjacent panels. If you do that, then you'll just keep it going into the covers. Kind of a never ending battle on these cars.
