Purchased a Porter Cable 7424 for small spider web scratches and will use Menzerna or Klasse but was wondering if I went with right polisher? What does everyone think? I want to stay with a random to not risk burning paint etc on new Vette. Also, best products for light scratch removal on basically new paint and final polish? Thanks.
The PC is probably your best bet if you haven't used a machine polisher before. Since its a DA its tons safer than a rotary. Rotaries will take out much deeper scratches but also takes some experience to use it safely. I think the 3M Finesse It or Perfect It series is the best finishing products. Final polish by hand or machine I recommend Zymol (blue stuff). BTW there are alot of videos on youtube on how to use the PC.
GREAT PC and unbelievably easy to use with minimal risk for any damage to your car's finish. Good luck with the project and post up your findings if you wouldn't mind....

I like the 3m stuff and meguires makes commercial products that are great too.
Menzerna Super Intensive Polish is the best for the newer vette super hard clearcoats.
the PC is pretty good, but its going to take some time to remove the scratches as it just doenst generate enough heat to break down the polish quickly. the Flex ROB from what I hear is the new hotness, but it costs about 2 1/2 times what the PC costs.
The PC is as good as any electric. The best, however, would be pneumatic National Detroit. As for compounds, it varies with application. I prefer the 3M line. Meguiars is also good though.
I don't get it, I've buffed cars out for years and I can only think of one or two times I buffed through the clear, on a fender/hood edge usually. But that was my own stupidity. Other than that, it's not that easy to buff through the clear, especially if you use a mild compound and medium wool pad (not course). Don't be afraid of a rotary buffer.
