Default C4 luggage rack plastic inserts

I am looking for a replacement for the plastic inserts for my luggage rack on my 1990 C4 convertible. I know that the rack itself is not available, but was told that similar racks were installed on other GM cars for that year. I have seen one rack on a 1990 Oldsmobile 98 and was wondering if anyone out there could be of any help with this issue. I only need to replace the center insert, but am willing to change all the inserts if I can fine something that will work. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate the help. Please contact Joe Girardi at GTQUE@ hotail.com. Thanks

I had the same problem with my 93 vert. All of my factory inserts were reused after a paint job. Needless to say they did not secure the luggage rack very well. I made some inserts out of nylon. In order to make them work I changed the screw size from a 10-32 screw to a 8-32 screw. I had to use a washer to hold the rack down and since most of them are hidden I used sst cap screws. The two screws that are not coverd I bought some brass flat head screws for those two locations. The inserts are difficult to make and I broke several of them pushing through the fiberglass. It was very risky but I managed to make the repair. I wish I could help you on this but my method leaves a lot of room to damage the car. I needed to use a material thatis more flexible.Hope this gives some ideas.
