I plan on installing some Mold Kraft Louvers and their instructions call for using 3M (window) Channel Bond #08641 for the small 50ml (2oz) tubes.
Now I need a mixing applicator gun; the 3M Automix #08191 is kinda pricey at around $60 bucks for a one time use. Does anyone know of other (cheaper) brand guns that can apply the 3M tubes?
Have you purchased the adhesive yet? If not, you might want to check out Norton & Fusor products. I THINK that one or both takes a generic gun. Also, I believe either of those products will bond just about anything to anything.
I know what you mean about the pricey gun. Several years ago I used 3M 8115 to glue on a top surround & they wanted 325. for the gun. Fortunately, I was able to borrow a gun for the day from a friend.
BTW, I can't comment on the quality/durability of Norton products 'cause I've never used them, but they are considerably less expensive.

Thanks MYV. All those adhesive products is making my head spin
I suspect ALOT of different adhesives would work for this application, but I really don't want to experiment. 'Not sure why Mold Kraft (Greenwood) used a glass adhesive (especially a two-part one) other than it's flexibility, but....
You need to make sure and use an adhesive that is SMC compatable. If you don't you risk separation of your louvers from the body, I found out personally fourtunately way before paint. Am now redoing everything with SMC compatable material.
These guns look like what are used in dentistry to mix impression material for crown and bridge. I am not familiar with the adhesive you require but what would be the problem with buying the adhesive tubes and putting the two materials onto some aluminum foil and mixing with a stick?
I was getting a tooth capped last week and said the same thing.
The only problem I see with that (mixing manually) is the adhesive Mold Kraft recommended has a 4-5 minute work life and if muck-it-up it would be really bad
Maybe I should ask my dentist if he can loan me his applicator gun...
