Is Lars paint paper still an up to date source? I noticed the rev. I have is 1-12-03.
I have a major project ahead of me and I have never tackled body work. Anything mechanical is no problem.
I have removed the widebody fenders off of my 71 and I'm going to use L88 flares. The original fenders and quarters are still intact and weren't removed when the widebody panels were molded in. Now I have to remove a lot of resin and clean things up.
I also have to remove the paint from the rest of the car.
I'll add some pics in a few.

Not much has changed, it's a good well written procedure. Every car is different, so from a detailed level you may need to change some of the steps or products to fit your project and material availability.
In the 6th shot you can see that some of the glass was pulled loose when I removed the panel. What should I hit that with? Resin? Filler?
Resin and mat, but you'll need to remove the rest of the bondo to really see the extent of the repair. I would sand/grind the remaining bondo off of the panels. It will be a pain and a mess, but sanding will do less damage to the fiberglass.
Should I just take it down with 80 grit on my orbital?
Yes. If you feel confident you can start with 36 grit. If your sander has a lockable shaft for grinding that will help speed things up. Otherwise it will be a long process with an orbital.
