I am preparing to shoot SPI Epoxy, then Chromabase, then SPI Clear.
my local dist suggested Mid. temp.reducer for the Chromabase.
any words of wisdom tips or suggestions ? in central Texas.
thanks, 69VETT
mid temp is fine for spring . just remember to let it flash good between coats and before clear. one other thing is chromabase does not like to be shot wet and thick. good luck with it.
thanks PorchDog, about how much flash time ? 30-45 minutes between coats ?
I plan to 2 coats of SPI Epoxy, then wetsand with 400-600 if required ?
then Base 2 coats then 600 if required by trash, runs whatever ?
then 2-3 coats of SPI clear, and final wet sand with1200-1500 ?
appreciate any and all advice before I start spraying ! 69VETT
what color ? 2 coats of base is kinda scary to me. if you do 2 coats then sand with 600 i know your going to have problems. i do 3 coats of ss color then sand and do a final coat then clear. i just about always double the flash time . 30 min is normal for me. except for spi clear .

using gray SPI Epoxy with Dupont Base 5563 silver Mist.
I only plan to wet sand the color if I have problems.
I figured if I have to rework the base coat i can respray a color coat on top of it ? thanks, 69VETT
