Default Wavey C5 bumpers

I see a lot of C5's that show a wavey or saggy mismatch of the bumper covers compared to the fender panels, particularly on the upper corners just before they roll over to the flat horizontal part of the trunk lid and headlight doors. Is this because the bumpers are showing their age or is the thing bolted on too tight? Is there a fix for this such as adjustment or do they just need replaced?
Thanks

You will see that sort of mismatch on alot of new cars that have "rubber bumpers" The reason is because of the difference between materials. Fiberglass, Metal, and plastic all react slightly different to paint which will cause them to take on a different "tint" causing the colors to look ever so slightly different.

The wavy look is because, well because it's plastic, changes in temperature especially cause this sort of distortion.

I was at a supplier several years ago molding bumpers pre-painted with a film! (I think they were for Neons). The "painted" film was inserted into the mold and trimmed afterwards. Pretty wild.

I think they were only doing certain colors, but I'm sure you'll see it more and more.

I have no problem with the color, it's fine. I guess the only solution for a really nice fit is maybe a fiberglass cap instead of rubber. It wouldn't be worth it in terms of cost or durability but it would be nice if the originals were a little straighter. They aren't that bad....

I know exactly what you mean. It seems to be the most noticable on silver and pewter cars. Not really anything that can be done
