Help with C4 flares

Help with C4 flares
I am looking to make flares on my 1990 to fit the wide race tires. I know that C4s are made of SMC, or whatever its called, and not regular fiberglass. Can I use fiberglass to make the flares or is there somthing better I should use? I also have to do some repair on other parts of the body. What should I use for that?
