I have narrowed down my selection of greens to paint my 75 coupe. I am having to decide between fairway green and polo green. I have seen some pics of both colors on cars and some are darker/lighter than others. what causes this? I am guessing that it has to do with the color of sealer used and the number of coats. I should have the car painted in about a month and am going to let a professional do it. I have completed the majority of the body work and prep but would feel better letting a professional do the finish product.

If you are looking at photo's of these cars painted in the colors you described...is a bad way to judge a color. IT has to deal with the lighting at the time of the picture. I have taken pictures of reds with and without a flash and the color is completely different.
Also if you see these colors on a car...in person. The color can be changed by a number of ways. It can be lightened and darkened all by how you shoot it, reducer/thinner selection, if you thin it more or less from designed specs, the amount of color that is being atomized at the time of spraying it, flash times between coats and if you apply enough to hide the color of the undercoat. And can even fall on the mixer of the paint correctly adding the toners to the mix correctly. Have your painter shoot out a spray out evaluation card(s) and verify that is the color you want. So there will be no surprises when youo go and pick it up.
