John Deere Blitz Black is close to original and widely available. There's a Krylon Industrial semi gloss black which is also recommended, but it has become hard to find... can't recall the stock number right now... do a search in the general forum there have been some recent threads over there.

There are three kinds of John Deere dealerships... Commercial and Consumer Products (lawnmowers and small tractors), Agricultural, and Construction. Check your yellow pages, there's bound to be a dealer of some kind close to you. Also try Lowe's and Home Depot... they carry the mowers, but only well managed stores carry much for parts and accessories; you might get lucky though.
